HVAC System Maintenance

HVAC systems along with any other mechanical system do require maintenance from time to time. It is recommended to have checkups done on your system before seasonal changes, however once a year is also acceptable. Basic system maintenance does not require any special training. Basic maintenance includes changing filters and making sure that vents are clear of debris. It is also recommended to make sure the condensate drain is clear of mold or buildup. HVAC maintenance technicians need to be called for major system checkups. Technicians are trained in proper cleaning of ductwork to prevent damage and clear debris. Technicians will also test for leaks, clean coils, check sensors, and ensure proper fin orientation. Checks should also be done on refrigerant levels to ensure that the system is functioning at its proper capacity. Proper maintenance of HVAC systems saves money on monthly energy costs and prevents early break down of systems.
